The amount of gas flared from production in the Bakken region in North Dakota grew by 2.5 times between May 2011 and May 2013. US, Russia, Nigeria and Iraq are among the top ten flaring countries. In an effort to reduce air pollution and promote clean air Shell will be spending $100 million on innovative technologies.2nd Annual LatAm HSE in Oil, Gas, Petrochemicals and Energy to be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on 18-19 November will gather HSE experts in and around the region to discuss and promote the latest environment and safety procedures. With an effective blend of case studies and panel discussions the summit will cover topics like waste minimization practices in the petroleum industry, HSE management system & human behavior, health rehabilitation after accidents and the effects of organizational culture on the reliability of emergency planning.
